Hi Nuruh,
receive greetings from from from further distances.I wouldm like to say thanks for requestings for views from us. What i have noticed is that drought has caused many pastrolist to go in search of water and grazing pasture and they compete with the neighbours hence resulting in wars and the husband get killed during raids and the women are left alone to take of the children.
Thanks
john

Hi Nuruh,
The cases of single mothers i have seen in the areas where i work now, i mean in northern uganda, are as a result of these factors among others; War, Gender based violence and HIV/AIDS prevalences. Interesting to note is the fact that all these factors are inter-related. This means that when dealing with cases of single motherhood we should be more carefull to include remedies to all the above factors more especially when trying to design projects to help the victims. Lastly we should be able to overcome the barriers posed by social cultural believes and religious practices in the various communities we are working in inorder to help reduce incedances of single motherhood.
Thanks,
Martin.
