Type of Incentive:
The MIP Program is designed for young professionals who wish to acquire the skills required to play a leading role in the field of IP capacity building though exposure to the international and comparative approaches.

The young professional to be accepted to the program should primarily be from academic or R&D institutions, who upon graduation will be expected to return to their respective institutions to serve as trainer in the field of IP.

Eligibility:
Persons to be awarded the scholarships should primarily be teachers of intellectual property or those aspiring to teach IP in a university or other institutions of higher learning or Research and Development (R&D) institution (although some exceptions may be made of deserving candidates from relevant Government institutions).

Special Requirements:
Applicants who wish to benefit from the WIPO fellowship must be under 40 years of age to qualify, (not applicable to self-sponsored students) and must hold a minimum of a Bachelors (lower class) degree from a recognized university in any discipline. Proof of English proficiency is required.

Eligibility:
1. The Candidate must be an African national and a permanent resident of an African nation.
2. The Candidate must have made an application to UCL to study for a full-time postgraduate programme at the Centre for International Health and Development for the coming academic year.
3. The Scholarship is offered as a partial payment towards UCL tuition fees and will not cover additional living and travel costs.

Therefore the candidate must arrange for and obtain additional funding.

The candidate must also be able to provide evidence that he/she has secured other sources of funding for travel and living costs and the remainder of the tuition fees.
4. The Scholarship can only be applied to tuition fees for a UCL CIHD MSc or MPhil/PhD. Scholarship awards are deducted from tuition fees.

Type of Incentive:
The Beit Trust offers annually a small number of Fellowships for postgraduate studies or research to graduates who are domiciled in Malawi, Zambia or Zimbabwe.

The duration of the Fellowships is normally for up to three years and taken up at a University in the United Kingdom, Ireland or South Africa, for study in a subject of the student’s choice appropriate to the needs of the beneficial area.

Eligibility:
Selection is highly competitive, and only postgraduates with at least a Merit (equivalent to a good 2.1 from a UK university) in their first degree are likely to succeed. The selectors favour practical and useful disciplines that are likely to offer a clear benefit to the beneficial area.

Special Requirements:
Only those applicants who state that they will return to work in the relevant country upon completion of the fellowships, and who can, if short-listed, present themselves for interview before a Beit Fellowship Selection Board in Harare, Blantyre or Lusaka towards the middle of December of that year will be considered.
